Whisky.Auction raises over £350k for ocean charities

Online auctioneer Whisky.Auction has raised more than £350,000 (US$446,437) for ocean charities through a sale that included a 50-year-old bottle of Karuizawa Japanese whisky. Held from 18-27 November, the auction of rare rum and whisky bottlings – 21 in total, donated from various spirits companies – almost doubled its original target of £200,000 (US$260,843). Cask 88 unveils quarter cask-finished whisky series

Scotch whisky bottler Cask 88 has created a limited edition series comprising four expressions that have been finished in smaller sized quarter casks. The Cask 88 Eighty Eight Series features bottlings from Bunnahabhain, Highland Park, Caol Ila and Bladnoch. The first release is a 27-year-old Bladnoch, the oldest whisky in the series. Diageo shows ‘commitment to environment’ with new roles

David Cutter, Diageo’s president of global supply and procurement, has been given the additional role of chief sustainability officer. In addition, the firm has created the position of director of Diageo in society, which will be filled by InterContinental Hotels executive Kate Gibson in March next year.
