Cognac star performer in French spirits exports

French spirits exports rose 1.8% to €4.4 billion (US$4.9bn) in 2018, but Cognac was the only category to record both value and volume growth. Martell boosts Pernod Ricard half-year sales

Pernod Ricard has reported a 7.8% organic sales growth to €5.18 billion (US$5.87bn) in the first half of fiscal 2018 driven by the “strong” performances of Martell Cognac and Jameson Irish whiskey. LVMH wine and spirits unit registers single-digit growth

The wine and spirits arm of LVMH has recorded an organic revenue growth of 5% to €5.1 billion (US$5.8bn) in 2018, boosted by China, Europe and the US. UK-based Halewood Wines & Spirits has disposed of its majority stake in West Cork Distillers at the same time as reporting a 319% increase in operating profit in the year ending 30 June 2018.
