Diageo buys RTD brand Loyal 9 Cocktails

Smirnoff owner Diageo has expanded its presence in the ready-to-drink category with the purchase of vodka-based brand Loyal 9 Cocktails. Diageo purchased the ‘rapidly-growing’ ready-to-drink (RTD) brand from American whiskey and gin producer Sons of Liberty Spirits Company for an undisclosed sum. MGP completes $475m Luxco acquisition

Third-party spirits producer MGP Ingredients has completed its acquisition of American whiskey maker Luxco in a deal valued at US$475 million. The deal, which was first announced in January 2021, was completed on 1 April. MGP said the move was part of the firm’s long-term strategy focused on shifting to products of higher value, and would ‘significantly’ expand the business. Diageo completes Chase Distillery acquisition

Diageo has completed its acquisition of English producer Chase Distillery following approval from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority. In October 2020, Smirnoff vodka and Gordon’s gin owner Diageo agreed to acquire Chase Distillery for an undisclosed sum. Herefordshire-based Chase Distillery was founded in 2008 by William Chase. Investment firm Darco Capital has acquired American Harvest Vodka and Beach Whiskey, which will be managed by the newly-launched 1776 Spirits Company. Founded by entrepreneur and investor David Adelman, Darco Capital bought American Harvest Vodka and Beach Whiskey for an undisclosed sum.
