Rums of Puerto Rico to tour the US

Government body Rums of Puerto Rico will tour four US cities next week to host tastings and pairing dinners to promote its local brands. The Taste of Rum festival will stop off at Boston, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; and Washington, DC. Campari brings US distribution in-house

Italian drinks firm Campari Group has taken over the distribution and marketing of its brands in the US after ending its deal with Palm Bay International. Effective immediately, Cinzano vermouth and Mondoro sparkling wine brands will be imported and marketed by the group’s US arm, Campari America. Calvados sales surpass 5 million bottles in 2019

Sales of Calvados rose to 5.08 million bottles in 2019 boosted by double-digit growth in France. According to figures from the Interprofessional Association of Cider-Based Controlled Appellations (IDAC), total sales of Calvados grew 8.7% last year. In France, sales soared by 24% in 2019 and accounted for 50.5% of the category’s overall sales. Pennsylvania flexible pricing ‘no longer fair or balanced’

Trade groups have testified against pricing regulations in the US state of Pennsylvania, which they say are “no longer fair or balanced”. In 2016, legislators in Pennsylvania passed Act 39, which granted the state-run Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) “common retail marketing abilities”, such as pricing flexibility across its products.
