Aberfeldy launches 40-year-old bottle filling experience

Bacardi-owned Scotch brand Aberfeldy has launched three 40-year-old single cask whiskies, which are available exclusively from the distillery as a hand-bottling experience. The Highland distillery will bottle three American oak ex-Bourbon hogsheads, each filled on 22 August 1978. Cask #5029 will be bottled at 50.1% ABV and is described as having “honeysuckle and freshly cut grass” notes, with a “burst of cloves” and cereal notes on the palate. Bacardi buys Stillhouse Spirits

Family-owned Bacardi has acquired American whiskey and vodka producer Stillhouse Spirits for an undisclosed sum. Stillhouse Spirits was founded by Brad Beckerman, and Bacardi made a minority investment in the firm in 2014. Beckerman, founder and CEO of Stillhouse Spirits, will leave the business to pursue other opportunities. Bacardi Global Travel Retail (GTR) has partnered with Dubai Duty Free to launch a limited edition Aberfeldy 19-year-old single malt Scotch whisky as part of its Exceptional Cask Series.
