Salcombe Gin hits £800k funding target in 24 hours

English gin producer Salcombe Distilling Co has exceeded its crowdfunding target of £800,000 (US$1 million) in under 24 hours. The Devon-based gin maker launched the campaign on crowdfunding platform Seedrs, which has raised £870,535 (US$1.1m) from 206 investors to date. The Cotswolds Distillery is looking to raise £1 million (US$1.3m) worth of investment to help expand its whisky production.  The English producer is now looking to “maximise its whisky production and continue its brand-building programme” through its Angel’s Share 2 fundraising platform. English brand Burleighs Gin almost doubled its £250,000 (US$322,425) crowdfunding target to raise just under £500,000 (US$644,850) worth of investment in one month. Vermouth and amaro producer Asterley Bros has extended its crowdfunding target to £150,000 (US$186,800) after reaching its initial goal of £100,000 (US$123,000) ahead of schedule.
