Lakes Distillery sells stake to investment firm

Cumbria’s Lakes Distillery has sold a minority stake of its business to investment firm Comhar Capital for £4.25 million (US$5.5m) to support its growth plans. The funding will support the English producer’s ongoing investment programme and “continued growth” in maturing whisky stocks. Lakes launches new Scotch-English whisky blend

Cumbrian spirits producer The Lakes Distillery is showcasing “the role of casks in flavour creation” with the launch of The One Signature Blend, which contains a combination of Scotch and English whisky. The blended whisky comprises single malt from The Lakes Distillery “at its heart”, as well as Scotch grain and malt whiskies from the Highlands, Speyside and Islay. Lakes Distillery to expand whisky production

Cumbria’s The Lakes Distillery is embarking on a large-scale expansion project as it seeks to establish its whisky as a “global luxury brand”.
