Edrington Americas ends third-party TR contracts

Edrington’s travel retail business in the Americas will cease distribution of third-party spirits from Illva Saronno, Sazerac and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. From 30 September, Edrington Americas Travel Retail will no longer distribute Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Illva Saronno’s brands, while its distribution agreement with Buffalo Trace maker Sazerac will end on 31 December. Scotch brand Highland Park has partnered with Australian bar operator The Speakeasy Group to release a bespoke whisky in its Mjølner venues in Sydney and Melbourne. Oldest Macallan bottling could sell for US$125,000 at auction

A bottle of the oldest Macallan expression to date – a 72-year-old single malt bottled in a Lalique crystal decanter – is expected to sell for between US$100,000 and US$125,000 at auction. Edrington is set to release a new Macallan single malt whisky, which contains “rare” spirit made with barley from the brand’s Easter Elchies estate.
