Laphroaig unveils second Ian Hunter whisky

Islay Scotch brand Laphroaig has released its second annual limited edition whisky as part of the Ian Hunter Story range. Sotheby’s largest online spirits sale raises £1.2 million

Auctioneer Sotheby’s reported sales of £1.2 million (US$1.6m) in its largest online spirits auction, which saw a bottle of The Macallan Fine and Rare 56 Years Old sell for £46,360 (US$60,885). Copperworks ages gin in Laphroaig and Caol Ila casks

US distiller Copperworks has unveiled two gins matured in casks that previously held peated Scotch whiskies from Laphroaig and Caol Ila. Copperworks Distilling Company filled casks from Islay distilleries Laphroaig and Caol Ila with its Small Batch Gin. Auctioneer Sotheby’s has launched its largest online spirits sale to date, comprising 267 lots with a combined pre-sale estimate of £850,000 (US$1.1m).
