Blacktail closes as site proves to be ‘stretch economically’

New York bar Blacktail, the second venue from award-winning duo Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, has closed due to financial issues as a result of its “challenging location”. Blacktail first opened its doors in 2016, following the success of Muldoon and McGarry’s award-winning Dead Rabbit venue. The spirits world rung in the New Year this week with a host of high-profile parties, celebrity appearances and countless cocktails. First up, Nikki Beach at Caribbean island Saint Barts welcomed chart-topping DJ Kygo to its New Years celebrations, which were inspired by “chateau chic meets punk rock”. The Higher Love DJ appeared at the festivities alongside a Queen-influenced dance show from Visionair and “regal elements reinterpreted in a modern style”.

Vinexpo New York unveils 2020 spirits exhibitors

Trade show Vinexpo New York has already lined up exhibitors from 22 countries for its 2020 show – including spirits producers from New Zealand and Ukraine. Vinexpo New York will take place from 2-3 March 2020 at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center, and will mark Vinexpo’s third year in the city.
