Scotch whisky bottler Gordon & MacPhail has named its new Speyside distillery The Cairn, which is due to open in spring 2022. Douglas Laing launches 26-year-old Macallan

Independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co has added a 26-year-old Macallan Scotch whisky to its XOP The Black Series. The Macallan 1993 Vintage was distilled in November 1993 at the Macallan distillery in Speyside. The whisky matured for 26 years in an ex-refill butt and has been bottled at cask strength of 56.4% ABV. Macallan completes Edition Series

The Macallan has unveiled the sixth and final Edition Series whisky, which celebrates the Speyside distillery’s natural surroundings. Simpsons Malt to buy Speyside site

Independent grain supplier Simpsons Malt has agreed to acquire a 40-acre site in Speyside to construct a new maltings to meet demand from Scottish producers. Simpsons Malt produces malted barley, which is used in the production of Scotch whisky and other spirits. The family-owned company currently operates two malting facilities in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, and Tivetshall St Margaret, Norfolk. Glenfarclas whisky to raise money for foodbank

Speyside distillery Glenfarclas has released a limited edition 10-year-old single cask whisky and will donate 10% of sales to a local foodbank. The whisky had been lined up to be released as the distillery exclusive bottling at this year’s Spirit of Speyside festival in April, which was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
