Suntory buys 10% stake in Macallan maker Edrington

Japanese spirits giant Suntory has acquired a 10% stake in The Macallan owner Edrington for an undisclosed sum. Suntory already owned a share of single malt Scotch brand The Macallan, and has held a “strong strategic partnership” with Edrington since the 1990s. Suntory donates AU$500k to Australian wildfire relief efforts

Japanese drinks group Suntory has pledged AU$500,000 (US$347,500) to aid recovery efforts in communities that have been affected by the Australian wildfires. A series of wildfires are currently burning across Australia in what is thought to be the worst wildfire season on record.
