Tamworth Distilling to support parkland conservation

American spirits producer Tamworth Distilling will support the upkeep of the Chocorua Mountain in New Hampshire by donating a portion of its sales to conservation charities.

Tamworth Distilling will donate US$1 from the sale of its rye whiskey to conservation charities

The American distiller will donate US$1 from the sale of each bottle of its Chocorua Rye Whiskey to the Chocorua Lake Conservancy. The charity, which was founded in 1968, protects the scenic and natural resources of the Chocorua Lake Basin and surrounding area.

Tamworth Distilling has also announced that its Chocorua Rye Whiskey will be listed for sale through national distributor Warehouse Wines & Spirits.

Steven Grasse, founder of Tamworth Distilling, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to share our Chocorua Rye Whiskey with the rest of the country because it’s a perfect example of our distillery’s scratch-made ethos and wilderness-to-bottle approach to creating small-batch spirits.

“It’s one of the products we’ve been most proud of at Tamworth Distilling and with national availability, it could lead to larger donations for the Chocorua Lake Conservancy.”

Bottled at at 45% abv, Tamworth Distilling’s Chocorua Rye Whiskey has been aged for more than two years in white oak barrels. The whiskey is said to have a “cherry-like nose, a slight pepper kick from the 100% rye grain beginning, and a medium-length finish”.

Chocorua Rye Whiskey is available from Warehouse Wines & Spirits for US$64.99 per 750ml bottle.

Last week, the New Hampshire-based distillery unveiled an “improved” recipe for its Skiklubben Aquavit.
