Tito’s targets dog lovers with new distribution deal

Texas-made vodka Tito’s has agreed a new distribution deal in Germany, which it hopes will further highlight its position as the ‘vodka for dog people’.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka has signed a distribution partnership with Hardenberg-Wilthen, which will concentrate on educating bartenders and growing the brand’s on-trade presence in key German cities.

The brand also notes that Germany is the second biggest dog-loving nation in Europe, with more than 9.2 million pet dogs, making it the ideal location for Tito’s to grow its reputation as the ‘vodka for dog people’.

Tito’s founder Tito Beveridge first noticed the plight of stray dogs on the distillery site when the brand was established in 1997, and then created Vodka for Dog People to “better the lives of pets and their families far and wide”.

He then became involved in animal rescue and has since established close relationships with animal charities, such as Emancipet, in the US. All proceeds from Tito’s branded dog products – which include a dog bowl, vodka bottle-shaped soft chew toys, a dog lead and bandana – go to not-for-profit organisations. They are available to purchase on www.vodkafordogpeople.com.

In addition to Germany, Tito’s Handmade Vodka has also secured a new distribution deal in Spain with Martins Brands.

Martins Brands will work on growing Tito’s on-trade availability, targeting tourists and Spanish nationals in Madrid and Barcelona, as well as the club scene in the Canary Islands.

John McDonnell, Tito’s managing director international, said: “Tito’s continues to grow strongly in the US and is now available in over 140 international markets globally.

“We believe these two dynamic distributors are the perfect fit in their respective markets and look forward to seeing Tito’s flourish under their stewardship.”
