Beefeater launches lower-ABV spirit drink

Pernod Ricard-owned gin brand Beefeater has unveiled its first lower-ABV spirit drink: Beefeater Botanics Lemon and Ginger. Bottled at 27.5% ABV, Beefeater Botanics Lemon and Ginger is made from a gin base and distilled botanicals, which is enhanced with ‘100% natural flavours’. Beefeater Botanics contains no added sugar, artificial flavours or sweeteners. A serve of 50ml Beefeater Botanics and 150ml light tonic contains 83 calories. Canadian provinces cut EU and UK spirits duty

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario has reduced levies on EU and UK spirits by 42%, while Québec will cut taxes on imported spirits next month. From today (1 April), levies on spirits produced in the European Union (EU) and UK will be reduced in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Québec. Trash Tiki co-founder Kelsey Ramage has confirmed that highly acclaimed bar Supernova Ballroom has permanently closed.
