MGP Ingredients has announced Series II of their annual Remus Repeal Reserve.
Produced to commemorate Prohibition Repeal Day, Series II is a limited bottling that will be available as of November 13, the birthdate of brand namesake George Remus.
Named after the “King of the Bootleggers,” Remus Repeal Reserve is an annual series from George Remus Bourbon, made at MGP’s distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This year’s blend will include more than 10 years of bourbons in the first 2007/2008 release from George Remus.
Made in a high-rye style, the mash bill changes each year. Remus Repeal Reserve Series II showcases two mash bills from 2007/2008. It is comprised of 15% 2007 bourbon (21% rye); 50% 2008 bourbon (21% rye); 10% 2007 bourbon (36% rye) and 25%, 2008 bourbon (36% rye).
The aroma shows maple with vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and spice, the company says, with a palate of sweet vanilla, caramelized brown spice, vanilla, smoke and maple on the finish.
Remus Repeal Reserve Series II retails for a suggested $84.99 per 750-ml bottle. It is bottled at 100 proof/50% ABV.
