Angel’s Envy will release Cellar Collection Volume 6 nationwide on Oct. 9. It is a blend of rye whiskey finished in peach brandy and toasted oak barrels, resulting in a complex expression with bold rye spice, ripe orchard fruit and rich oak character. Maker’s Mark is launching a new collection that will sell exclusively in international airports. The World Wood Collection builds on the Kentucky distillers wood-finishing experience.
Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse comes from Camp Nelson D at 120.8 proof. Starlight Distillery’s annual release of Estate Collection 7-Year Cask Strength Bourbon is made entirely grain-to-glass on the Huber family estate in Indiana. Beginning Oct. 21, Diageo is launching the Lost Lantern George Dickel Collection.

Angel’s Envy Cellar Collection Volume 6 was aged between 8 and 11 years total, bottled at 106.4 proof. Maker’s Mark World Wood Collection Expedition 01 is finished with Japanese Mizunara, American white oak, and French white oak staves. It is a complex, balanced whisky in which each oak contributes distinct flavor notes: Delicate florals and subtle umami from the Mizunara, sweet vanilla from the American white oak, and baking spice and caramel from the French oak. Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse has a nose of baked fruits, apple, baking spices and vanilla. On the palate, it is cinnamon, cloves, stone fruit and ryebread with a finish of rye spice, pepper, cinnamon and oak. Starlight Estate Collection has a nose of caramelized sugar, toasted oak, dried fruit, vanilla and baking spice. On the palate, it is brown sugar, French caramel, coconut and plums, with a finish of oak, spice and confectionary sweetness.

Camp Nelson D was built in 1946 and is one of five still standing on the Camp Nelson property. Master distiller Eddie Russell noted that he started as a union employee 45 years ago working in the rickhouse. Starlight Distillery’s Estate Collection is made entirely grain-to-glass on the Huber family estate in Indiana. Lost Lantern is a Vermont-based independent bottler partnering with Diageo and George Dickel distiller Nicole Austin.
