A shocking incident in La Romaine, San Fernando, has left a 38-year-old woman critically injured after a brazen home invasion. The victim sustained severe burns following an attack carried out by a suspect wielding a bottle of rum.
According to eyewitness accounts and police reports, the incident unfolded at approximately 2 am. The suspect, identified as a 40-year-old man, forced his way into the victim’s residence. Witnesses describe a chaotic scene where he poured the rum onto the sleeping woman, triggering a violent struggle. He then allegedly used a lighter, igniting the spilled liquor and causing significant burns.
The victim fled to a nearby bedroom, falling onto her bed as the flames spread. Despite the severity of the attack, the suspect quickly extinguished the fire before fleeing the scene. Police recovered the bottle of rum at the crime scene, and a full-scale investigation is underway.
