The Rajasthan Excise Department has launched a significant intensified crackdown on illicit liquor operations across the state, targeting both retail sales and storage, particularly during the upcoming New Year period. This proactive measure aims to safeguard public health and enforce regulations surrounding the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
Jaipur Seizure: Counterfeit Liquors Targeted
A substantial consignment of counterfeit liquor, bearing fraudulent hologram labels, was recently seized from the Retreat Restaurant Bar, situated at Fortune Heights near Ahimsa Circle in Jaipur. Authorities recovered ten cartons of imported liquor, originating from Haryana, that bore these deceptive markings. Following the discovery, four individuals were taken into custody. The operation, overseen by Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) O.P. Jain and Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Pradeep Singh Sangawat, involved a coordinated team led by Deputy Commissioner Gyan Prakash Meena and Assistant Excise Officer Shiv Kumar Chaudhary.
Udaipur Raid: Rooftop Party Shut Down
Simultaneously, a separate operation in Udaipur resulted in the disruption of an illegal New Year’s Eve party held at a rooftop café near Pichola Lake – Gangaur Ghat. Nine cartons of beer and liquor were seized from the site. One individual, Akash Chaudhary, was apprehended. The raid was overseen by District Excise Officer Aadarsh Dahiya and Deputy Commissioner (EPF) Pradyumn Singh Chundawat. Supporting the operation were Excise Inspector Shambhu Singh Rathore, alongside Home Guards Jamnashankar and Lokesh Gawariya.
