San Francisco’s famed Fisherman’s Wharf just got a serious upgrade, and it’s poured with tequila, rum, and a whole lot of Baja Blast. A new Taco Bell Cantina has opened its doors at 333 Jefferson Street in the Anchorage Square shopping center, promising a unique blend of craveable tacos and increasingly spirited beverages.
The Cantina’s expansion follows the success of the first three locations in New York City, launched in 2018. However, those initial locations utilized lower-alcohol ‘imposter spirits’ due to existing liquor license restrictions. This new Fisherman’s Wharf location benefits from a full range of premium spirits, offering a truly elevated Taco Bell experience.
A Boozy Baja Blast Journey
The beverage menu is the star of the show. The familiar Twisted Freezes are reimagined, allowing customers to add shots of vodka, tequila, or rum. Signature options include a potent Mountain Dew Baja Blast with booze – a must-try for those seeking a refreshingly strong cocktail. For the classic cocktail enthusiasts, a Cantina Margarita is available, alongside the innovative new Cantina Punch.
Fisherman’s Wharf’s Renaissance
The arrival of the Taco Bell Cantina coincides with a significant transformation of Fisherman’s Wharf. The area is undergoing a major overhaul, including a newly designed pedestrian plaza, an expanded seating area, and the revitalization of long-standing establishments like a revived Castagnola’s and a brand-new Everett & Jones BBQ location. Locals and tourists alike can now enjoy a diverse range of culinary options – from savory BBQ to classic Mexican fare and, of course, those boozy Baja Blasts.
Crab Season Collaboration
Timing is everything. With the commercial Dungeness crab fishing season opening on January 5th, a quick pitstop at the Taco Bell Cantina to enjoy a shot of tequila alongside a freshly caught crab is a genuinely compelling prospect. It’s the perfect combination of California tradition and a deliciously irreverent drink.
This new location represents a bold step for the brand, solidifying its commitment to offering a more sophisticated dining experience while maintaining the core appeal that made Taco Bell a global icon.
