The expansion into San Antonio marks a significant milestone for Pinthouse Pizza, which has built a loyal following in Austin through its unique blend of craft beer and gourmet pizza. The new location will feature two main dining areas, plenty of seating, and an extensive selection of rotating brews that are sure to please even the most discerning palates.
During a preview event, MySA had the opportunity to sample some of Pinthouse’s signature beers and pizzas. The Ooh La La pizza was a standout, featuring mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, arugula, spicy honey, Peppadew peppers, and parmesan on a crispy crust. Paired with Best Day Brewing’s non-alcoholic kolsch beer poured into one of Pinthouse’s signature glasses adorned with the brewery’s iconic skull and crossbones logo.
Marketing director Robert Larry shared that the new location is aiming to launch as early as Monday, March 23; however, due to ongoing finishing touches, an official opening date has yet to be confirmed. Interested patrons can keep an eye on the brewery’s social media for updates.
Pinthouse Pizza is known for its flagship craft beers like Electric Jellyfish hazy IPA and Magical Pils pilsner. The San Antonio menu features a diverse selection of rotating brews alongside specialty pizzas that cater to various tastes.
The expansion into San Antonio comes amidst other notable developments in the local food scene, including Davila’s BBQ opening a new location outside of the city, Bass Pro Shops introducing Hard Right Bbq store in San Antonio, and Miller’s Smokehouse temporarily closing due to a fire. Hoover’s Cooking, a beloved Black-owned soul food spot in East Austin is retiring after 27 years.
In addition to Pinthouse Pizza expanding into San Antonio, other notable developments include Round Table Pizza permanently closing its location on TPC Parkway amid Fat Brand’s bankruptcy and franchising issues.
