Overview: Spirit of Yorkshire has introduced a limited-edition bottling to commemorate Yorkshire Day. The Filey Bay release marks the seventh installment in the distillery’s annual series and will be available exclusively from the facility in Hunmanby, North Yorkshire.
The Full Story
Launch details are set for an open weekend on August 1 and 2. Joe Clark, whisky director at Spirit of Yorkshire, noted that some of the very best whisky to ever mature at the distillery comes from refill sherry casks. This gentle process allows light, fruity new make spirit to interact beautifully with the oak, resulting in a wonderfully complex and elegant flavour profile.
Production & Profile
Matured in refill sherry hogshead casks, the bottling is presented at 55 per cent ABV. The whisky is described as soft, fruity and complex with flavours of fruit cake, brioche, frangipane and chocolate-covered raisins. Just 1,500 bottles will be available exclusively from the distillery.
What This Means
The release serves as a regional celebration, with the Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2026 bottling highlighting the connection between the Hunmanby location and the wider North Yorkshire area.
Consumer Takeaway
Drinkers seeking this specific expression can purchase the 1,500 available bottles directly from the distillery at a price of £95 per bottle.
