On Sunday, July 26, Jim White piloted Bad JuJu to victory in the Sine Metu Jameson Irish Whiskey Race with a time of 1:07:33. The win was secured by five seconds over Rich Gailey’s Wicklow Way, which finished at 1:07:38. Max Perez aboard Ol’ Yeller completed the podium in third place with a time of 1:08:33. In the Planing Boat category, Bad JuJu claimed first place, while Wicklow Way topped the Displacement Boat class.
Three days later on Wednesday, July 29, the Ladies on the Lake Series drew three women captains for its monthly run. Diane Forrest at the helm of Show Me edged Patti Miller and Fleur de Mer III by 28 seconds to take first place. Laura Marriott was credited for third place on Wicklow Way despite missing the start. The regular Wednesday Night Rum Race saw Ray Laguna piloting Sheet Show to a 14-second victory over White and Bad JuJu. Boat vessels also claimed first place in Displacement and Planing Boat categories respectively. Diane Forrest and Show Me completed the podium, while NacraNA with John Chamberlain at the wheel finished fifth overall but garnered first place finish in Multihull Boat.
