Overview: Italian restaurant Sale e Pepe, the long-term Knightbridge favourite, is serving two limited-edition festive cocktails from 9th November to 31st December in collaboration with Grey Goose Altius vodka and illustrator Clym Evernden. The special libations were created by bar director Pietro Collina using the ultra-premium spirit and are accompanied by original artwork from the London artist.
The Full Story
Sale e Pepe launches two festive cocktails with illustrations by Clym Evernden at its Knightsbridge location and sister site, Sale e Pepe Mare at The Langham. The drinks will be available until the end of December 2026 and are priced at £20 each. Original artwork depicting an alpine landscape populated by geese appears on the festive cocktail menu, recipe cards, and a collectable coaster designed to double as a postcard.
The design draws on the flavours of the cocktails and on the Altius bottle, which is decorated with mountains and geese in reference to the vodka’s use of springwater from the French Alps. Illustrator Clym Evernden explained his thoughts behind the artwork: “I liked the idea of an alpine landscape that doesn’t quite exist, somewhere between a ski resort and a fairytale, with the geese as a cast of characters to play with,” he said. “It’s a pleasure to make something people will actually hold while they’re having a drink. I hope a few of the coasters end up going home in coat pockets.”
Production & Profile
The Mulled Martini combines Grey Goose Altius with mulled vermouth, Maraschino and Douglas fir. In contrast, the Peppermint Negroni blends the vodka with Campari, blanc vermouth, crème de menthe and crème de cacao, finished with a chocolate and peppermint garnish. Bar director Pietro Collina built the drinks from classic cocktails with seasonal additions.
Brand & Industry History
The original Sale e Pepe has operated on Pavilion Road since 1974 and serves classic Italian cooking. Sale e Pepe Mare opened at The Langham in the West End earlier this year, with a Riviera-inspired menu centred on seafood and handmade pasta.
What This Means
The collaboration links the two restaurants for the first time during the festive period. Collina said: “I wanted both cocktails to feel familiar first and festive second. The Mulled Martini cocktail takes the flavours people already associate with this time of year and puts them somewhere unexpected. The Peppermint Negroni is really an after-dinner mint in a glass. It’s the drink I’d want at the end of a long lunch in December.”
Consumer Takeaway
The Knightsbridge restaurant opens from noon daily. It closes at 10.30pm from Monday to Thursday, at 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 10pm on Sundays. Both cocktails will remain on the menus at the two sites until the end of December. For further information or to book a table, visit the group’s website.
