Overview: Archie Rose Distilling Co. announces its U.S. debut alongside Chris Hemsworth as co-owner, while B.R. Distilling releases a new Cherry Wood Cask Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
The Full Story
Archie Rose Distilling Co. is preparing for its United States launch later in 2026, marking a significant expansion for the Sydney-based distillery. The company announced that Chris Hemsworth is joining co-owner and founder Will Edwards to help expand the award-winning whisky and spirits company into the United States. Hemsworth stated he joined due to the brand’s commitment to quality ingredients and craftsmanship, along with tapping into the country’s potential in the spirits industry. He noted that tasting an Archie Rose whisky immediately transports him back home to the Australian bush.
The distillery is based in Botany, Sydney —with a public-facing Bar & Cellar Door in Rosebery — producing its products on-site. In addition to being the country’s largest whisky producer, Archie Rose is also the No. 1 independent gin producer. The company announced that Hemsworth will be tasked with giving Archie Rose exposure in the U.S., where it plans to expand later this year. According to Archie Rose, its whiskies will be available stateside for the first time ever.
Concurrently, Blue Note Bourbon, the Memphis, Tennessee-based whiskey brand from B.R. Distilling, has released a limited-run Cherry Wood Cask Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The expression starts as straight bourbon aged in American oak, then finishes in wild-cherry wood casks sourced from the Jura region of eastern France.
Production & Profile
Blue Note Bourbon’s newest bourbon spent its final months in French cherry wood. It is bottled at cask strength — 120 proof, 60% ABV — with a mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley. Archie Rose Distilling Co. proudly boasts its more than 450 awards, including World’s Best Rye Whisky twice, Australia’s Best Single Malt Whisky five times, and the World’s Best Gin.
Brand & Industry History
Archie Rose is a relatively new company. It was founded in 2014, but in a short span has become Australia’s leading independent distillery. The company’s approach has always been about championing local ingredients to create spirits that taste truly Australian. Having Chris join the business as a co-owner allows them to bring that ambition to the world.
What This Means
The rollout will extend into the EU and UK in 2027. Archie Rose will roll the dice again later this year when it expands its international presence with three whiskies co-created with Hemsworth launching across markets in Asia and New Zealand.
Consumer Takeaway
Archie Rose’s whiskies will be available stateside for the first time ever. Blue Note Bourbon is a limited-run Cherry Wood Cask Straight Bourbon Whiskey aged in American oak then finished in wild-cherry wood casks from Jura region.
