Joy Lush Club is preparing to open inside Stoop Kid’s new location at 24 W. Camelback Road, Units D & E. The venue serves craft beer and a wine list featuring natural and local selections. It’s also a destination where fans can cheer for international soccer teams FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich, play trivia and gather with friends. Food trucks and vendors often pop up at Joy Lush Club to pair their offerings with the bar’s drinks. Over the years, Stoop Kid has been a regular.
The burger shop can move in quickly because the taproom already has a kitchen in place. The space is currently being upgraded with a hood and fryer so cooks can make Stoop Kid’s taut menu of lacy griddled burgers, fries and desserts. When Joy Lush Club reopens, it will extend its hours to offer lunch. Stoop Kid’s cooks will have more room to experiment beyond the regular menu with specials, too.
At the bar, Joy Lush Club will also add more options. Fasel is applying for a liquor license that would allow the bar to serve cocktails in addition to beer and wine. The owner anticipates getting approval in the coming months.

Mike Fasel opened The Joy Lush Club on Camelback near Central out of a “love of the liquid” with his wife Kate in 2022. Stoop Kid began serving customers from one of the shipping containers inside the Roosevelt Row food hall and collective, The Churchill, in 2020. This team-up is the latest of a growing number of Valley restaurants opening inside a bar or brewery. Previous similar collaborations mentioned include Goat & Ram teaming up with Phantom Fox Beer Co.

One big difference between those spots and Joy Lush Club is that customers will be able to order their food and drinks together. “We didn’t want to overcomplicate it by having two separate order situations,” McMillen says. The planned, affordable, “no-nonsense” cocktail menu will feature draft options in addition to those mixed at the bar.
