Overview: The Kentucky Bourbon Trail continues its growth trajectory with four new locations added this month, two of which are situated in Louisville. Pursuit Spirits and Uncle Boojie’s have joined the roster, bringing the total number of destinations across the state to over 70.
The Full Story
Pursuit Spirits on Whiskey Row is one of the newest locations to be added to the trail. The owners of Pursuit Spirits in Louisville went from talking about whiskey to making it. The owners started a podcast in 2015 before starting to make bourbon. Now it has landed on the trail, bringing a unique experience to visitors.
Uncle Boojie’s in Louisville is another newbie added to the bourbon trail. Uncle Boojie’s opened in Paristown less than a year ago, and it hopes that by being on the map, they’ll become a destination place for whiskey tastings. It gives you a lot of visibility, owner Dante said. When there are new places added every single year, it gives them a new place to check out and will be one of those places, so it’s awesome.
Production & Profile
Visitors can try from four different bourbon barrels at Uncle Boojie’s and take samples home with them. All of Uncle Boojie’s products are between seven and nine years old, which the owners said is uncommon for a new distillery. Pursuit Spirits offers a pick your own barrel experience where customers pay for a bottle instead of having to pay for their own barrel.
