A launch event took place earlier this week along the River Teviot, attended by guests from the whisky industry and the local community. Giancarlo Bianchi, managing director at The Borders Distillery, noted that the distillery has had a lot of interest and support from our community over the years, so it was particularly nice to be able to share the first release with so many of them here at the distillery.
John Lamont, MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk, said: “The release of the first Borders single malt in two centuries is a special moment.” He added that he is sure this historic bottling will attract huge amounts of attention and help to generate more opportunities for the distillery to keep growing.
