Following this initial maturation, the whisky was transferred to virgin mizunara barrels for an additional six years of aging. This unique combination of oak types imparts a complex flavor profile on the whisky, with notes of dried fruit, spice, and caramel from the sherry cask aging complemented by incense, baked apple, cinnamon, and toasted nuts from the mizunara oak.
