Overview: Woodinville Whiskey has announced the national rollout of its single-barrel expressions for the first time. The lineup features a seven-year-aged straight bourbon and a 100% rye whiskey, marking a significant expansion for the Pacific Northwest distillery.

The newly available whiskeys are Woodinville Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Aged 7 Years and Woodinville Single Barrel 100% Rye Aged 7 Years. Previously restricted to retailers and whiskey clubs, these barrel picks are now accessible across the country. This release represents the first time these expressions will be available nationally.
The spirits are produced in Woodinville from a mashbill of grains grown by the Omlin family, then sent about 200 miles away to Quincy in central Washington to mature inside new charred oak barrels in a much drier climate. Brett Carlile, cofounder and head distiller, stated the goal was to elevate the single barrel program. He personally tastes hundreds of barrels and picks only the best ones for this offering to ensure they are something very special.
Production & Profile
Both expressions are bottled from individual barrels at cask strength. The distillery says that will range from 115 to 125, again depending on the barrel. Samples received clocked in at 57.95 proof for the bourbon and 58.77 proof for the rye, a bit less than you’d find for your average Booker’s or Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. Tasting notes show sweet vanilla and oak notes in the bourbon and dried fruit and spice notes in the rye.
Brand & Industry History
Woodinville was founded in 2010 by Brett Carlile and Orlin Sorensen, along with some help from the late master distiller David Pickerell in the early years. It is actually owned by a major drinks company, having been acquired by Moët Hennessy in 2017, but it still essentially operates as a craft distillery.
What This Means
The release follows previous age statement additions, including an eight-year-old bourbon in 2024 and a nine-year-old in 2025. There’s more to come from the distillery over the coming year as well, with this year seeing the release of a 10-year-old expression.

The single-barrel bourbon and rye are available starting this month at a suggested retail price of $70. The release offers access to individual barrel picks that were previously limited, providing a direct connection to the distillery’s aging process in Washington state.
