Overview: Babas has officially opened its third Charleston location at 1011 King St on Oct. 2, 2026. The new site replaces the former Rodney Scott’s BBQ address and offers a larger footprint than previous locations. Standard menu offerings and business hours remain unchanged for the expanded space.
The Full Story
Babas announced in August that it would be closing down its Meeting Street location and moving to King Street. The newest site is approximately 20 percent bigger than any of its other locations, co-owner Marie Stitt told The Post and Courier. The space is bigger for customers who want to sit and sip, but also has a larger production kitchen to help with the company’s expanding events and catering business.
While the King Street address was home to Rodney Scott’s BBQ, which closed in May as its Alabama-based parent company was hit with millions of dollars in lawsuits and liens tied to its restaurants, Babas is now established at the spot. The space features outdoor seating and has parking available for guests. Although the site has drive-thru features, Stitt said they’re sticking with indoor service exclusively for now.
