Total Wine & More opened its first Lansing location at the Frandor Shopping Center on Sept. 23, with a grand opening event held Oct. 1. The store occupies a building previously used by Joann Fabrics and offers an inventory exceeding 8,000 wines, 4,500 spirits, and 2,500 beers from around the world. A Captain Morgan spiced rum display was visible at the location on Oct. 1, 2026.
Unicorn Bar reopened its doors on Sept. 18 amid Michigan BluesFest in Old Town. The venue is located at 327 E. Cesar E. Chavez Ave and has operated as a bar for nearly half a century under various names including The Unicorn Tavern and Unicorn Lounge. New owners Bob Fata and Ashley Sevenski aim to honor longtime owner Tommy Malvetis, who purchased the property in 1978 before passing away in 2016. Live entertainment will be a regular event at the venue.
