The Irish whiskey market is always a hot spot for innovative releases, and Redbreast’s latest addition is no exception. The Moscatel Wine Cask Edition, launched last week, is a single pot still Irish whiskey matured for an unspecified period in ex-American whiskey and Spanish oloroso sherry, then finished for 16 months in ex-Málaga moscatel wine casks from southern Spain.
London Distillery Co has also got the spotlight on its new English whisky single malt aged for ten years. This limited-edition release was drawn from ex-bourbon cask #007, which was laid down in 2015 during the distillery’s original operational period. The result is a rich and full-bodied spirit with a rich flavor profile.
Diageo has added a new chapter to its Lagavulin single malt Scotch whisky portfolio with the launch of Lagavulin 11 Year Old Sweet Peat. This release is matured in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon, giving it a rich and full-bodied flavor profile. The result is a complex and fruity spirit with hints of vanilla and caramel.
Another newcomer to the market is Esther Rum, produced at Picotto Family Distillery in Cali, Colombia. Founders Margaret Kerr-Jarrett and Emunah Winer have crafted a smooth and approachable spirit with a rich flavor profile.

Meanwhile, C&C Group has announced its plans to expand its Magners cider portfolio, which will see the brand launching a range of new flavors. The company said that it aims to create a ‘more premium’ offering, with a focus on using more natural ingredients and unique flavor combinations.
